Camp Capers Fun

Take a picture after the chore is done and hang it up--give awards for various jobs done.  Have a competition for which group can do the best job on each chore.

Give a round of applause at dinner or morning meetings for those who helped with capers.   Give assignment reminders for that day's caper duties after the round of applause for the previous day's performance.

Wear special aprons, hats (the caper cap?), or shirts while you clean, get a special badge if you help with a smile.

Caper stickers or beads for a necklace (if you have beads for other activities at camp, why not capers?)

Popsicles after capers.

Have a silly song that has to do with the chore at hand to sing together. Have it be one that you can sing as a round or with lots of verses or a catchy tune so that the time goes by faster.  For example,

(To the tune of the Caisson song--it's an Army marching song)
Clean the sink, clean the light
We will clean with all our might
As our capers keep going along.
Toilet bowls we will scrub,
And each mirror we will rub
As our capers keep going along.

Now it's hip hooray
We love capers every day
As our capers keep going along.
'Cause we're cleaning freaks
We could do it every week
As our capers keep going along.

Mop the floors, clean the pots
We don't want to miss a spot
As our capers keep going along.
Girls be brave.  Don't turn green.
We are cleaning the latrine
As our capers keep going along.

(Or, to the tune of As Johnny Comes Marching Home)
As we come cleaning one by one
Hoorah!  Hoorah!
As we come cleaning one by one
Hoorah!  Hoorah!
With a bucket and a mop in hand
We'll make this place the promised land
And we all go cleaning on (scrub scrub scrub scrub, scrub scrub scrub scrub)

As we come cleaning two by two
Hoorah!  Hoorah!
As we come cleaning two by two
Hoorah!  Hoorah!
With Lysol products we will fight
We'll kill those germies left and right
And we all go cleaning on (scrub scrub scrub scrub, scrub scrub scrub scrub)
