CTR Activities
1) CTR--Choose Your Own Adventure
Divide the children into groups. Make up situations in which a child could choose the right or the wrong. For each choice, assign a place for the children to go. For example, your friend suggests that you go bike riding on the dirt hills near your house. You know that your mom doesn't want you to go there, because it is dangerous. Do you go with your friend or tell your friend that you can't because you don't want to disobey your mother? If you go with your friend, go to the custodial closet. If you obey your mother, go to the drinking fountain.
At the custodial closet, you have someone dressed up as a prophet or church leader who reads a scripture (in this case about honoring father and mother), calls them to repentence and helps them get back on course (to the drinking fountain). At the drinking fountain, have someone read a scripture about how making good choices leads us to the waters of life. Then have the person at the drinking fountain read the next situation. If you have each bad choice lead to the same place, it minimizes how many people you need to help--plus it helps the children learn--a ha! The custodial closet means we made the wrong choice and have to repent--let's not go there. Then they are learning to choose the right in the context of the game too.

3) CTR Maze
Make a large maze in gym with chairs and rope. At various turns in the maze, place cards that have situations written on them--as in idea one, but the instructions for each response will be a different way to turn in the maze. If they choose the right, they will come out of the maze properly.
