I said to him, What 'cha doing that fer?
A sippin' ci--der through a straw

He said to me, Won't you come and see?
Sit and sip ci--der here with me.

So cheek to cheek, And jaw to jaw,
We both sipped ci--der through a straw.

And sometimes when That straw would slip,
We'd both sip ci--der lip to lip.

That's how I got My mother-in-law,
And forty-nine kids Who call me Ma.

The moral is, My children dear,
Don't you drink ci--der, drink root beer!

(continue in the same way for all of the verses)

He said to me, "Why don't you run?
I see you ain't got any gun."

And so I ran away from there
But right behind me was that bear.

Ahead of me, I saw a tree,
A great big tree, Oh glory be!

The nearest branch was ten feet up.
I'd have to jump and trust my luck.

And so I jumped into the air,
But I missed that branch all the way up there.

Now don't you fret and don't you frown.
'Cause I caught that branch on the way back down.

The moral of this story is
Don't talk to bears in tennis shoes.
